Malaysia’s First Computer-Based TOCFL Now Open for Registration at Oneworld Hanxin College on 7 February 2026

The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Malaysia, in collaboration with Oneworld Hanxin College, is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the first Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) in 2026. The test will take place on Saturday, 7 February 2026, at Oneworld Hanxin College. Students, Mandarin learners, and the general public are encouraged to register to enhance their Mandarin proficiency through this internationally recognized language assessment, with registration available until 8 January 2026.

This will be the first TOCFL Computerized Adaptive Test (TOCFL CAT) conducted in Malaysia.

TOCFL CAT employs Rasch model, which is the same as used in GRE, and GMAT, utilizing Item Response Theory (IRT) to evaluate candidates dynamically. Test-takers will not need to choose a specific test level or band when registering for the test. Instead, the system will assess their performance real-time and automatically provide the most suitable following questions. This innovative format adjusts the difficulty based on each candidate’s responses, allowing for immediate score display upon completion and significantly enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

The TOCFL CAT comprises two components (Listening and Reading), with candidates being able to choose between the Traditional or Simplified Chinese version. Successful candidates will be awarded an official digital certificate issued by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education. This certificate is particularly required for MOE Taiwan Scholarship applications, and may serve as an essential reference for international student admission to Taiwanese universities, graduation requirements in certain academic programs, enhance the profiles of overseas Chinese and international students seeking employment in Taiwan,

Registration can be completed online at https://tocfl.edu.tw/OS/. To encourage group participation, schools or organizations with 10 or more registrants can enjoy a 10% discount.
