Hanxin Partners with Shu-Te University to Launch 8th Master’s Program in Human Sexuality for Working Professionals
Hanxin Education and the Graduate Institute of Human Sexuality at Shu-Te University (Taiwan) have signed a memorandum of cooperation to launch the 8th Master’s Program in Human Sexuality for working professionals in Malaysia. Building on a partnership spanning over a decade, this initiative aims to provide professional development and academic research opportunities for working individuals in Malaysia. The signing ceremony took place at the Graduate Institute of Human Sexuality at Shu-Te University. The memorandum was signed by Associate Professor Shih Chun-Ming, Director of the Graduate Institute of Human Sexuality at Shu-Te University, and Tan Seok Kar, representing Oneworld Hanxin Education. Witnesses to the signing included four senior lecturers from the institute— Chiu Yu Chia, Yu Pei Ling, Chung Yi-Ting, and Hsu Che-Yi—as well as Koh Ea Boon, Vice Principal of Oneworld Hanxin College, and Ong Sook Chuan, CEO of Dayu Culture Sdn. Bhd. (Malaysia).
Tan Seok Kar stated that the continued promotion of cross-border higher education collaborations helps expand professional development opportunities for working individuals. She expressed hope that this agreement would offer Malaysian students a more diverse range of educational choices and further deepen educational exchanges between Malaysia and Taiwan.
Shih Chun-Ming noted that human sexuality is an interdisciplinary field integrating physiological, psychological, social, and cultural perspectives. It addresses critical topics such as gender development across the human lifespan, sexual health, and intimate relationships. As societal demand for specialized knowledge and services in this area grows, the cultivation of professionals in the field of human sexuality has become increasingly important.
Established in 2000, the Graduate Institute of Human Sexuality at Shu-Te University launched a doctoral program in 2006. Its research scope encompasses areas such as sex education, sexual counseling, sex therapy, sexual psychology, sexual health, and marriage and family studies. Since 2013, the institute has offered a master’s program for working professionals in Malaysia, providing a pathway for further education to those in fields such as education, counseling, healthcare, and social services.
Furthermore, in conjunction with the 29th anniversary of Shu-Te University, Tan Seok Kar — who also serves as the CEO of Oneworld Hanxin College — was honored as one of the university’s 20th cohort of Outstanding Alumni. Tan is a graduate of the 6th cohort of the university’s overseas master’s degree program in Malaysia.
